    Hey MC,
I download that Scott Bass surf talk radio each week and have a listen to that Podcast whilst drving aorund. That was one of the more interesting interviews for sure.
Sometimes it get a bit much with Ads etc but they ran that one through without all that suff so it was great.
Worth a listen to anyone interested in boards and a bit of history
Congrats on the results too. see you in the carpark

I really dig your thoughts on board design; it’s hard to find local shapers to have half the open mind as you. I actuaully tried to have a board shaped a few years back close to the designs you talk about( continous rocker, deep concave). How do you think your pro tow board would work in mushy surf? You mentioned shapers are to be seen as mentors, I am lookin to you for advice. Iam 5′11″ 175-180 lbs. I want fast yet still loose, and easy to paddle cuz it’s normal to have to paddle 100 yards or more. I can surf but ain’t a pro. I was thinking of the Sky Walker from Santa Cruz, or an Ozzy Wright. After doin research reading web site, your interveiw and so on; you are the shaper I have been lookin for. I know you have a lot on your plate but I believe you can show me the way to my next magic board! Keep your head up, be positive.

    Hi Geoff
sounds like the Metro design is what you are looking for!
similar concave to the protow……but has been designed wider with a 1″ wider tail at the 1′ mark and
goes from 1′-5′…I was just in california for the big swell during the US open and I actually rode my 6′0″ x 21 x 21/2 at lower trestles up to…8′..sure the boards was better 1-4…..but as they paddle so good ,and are really stable on the takeoffs..and they are fast and carvy….
    thanx

no question deep concaves mean faster and more carvy.
flat bottom is slower, and hull/belly/convex is the slowest of all

    ifthe board doesn’t have a deep concave…its a retro!
